WRACS Financial Assitance
Financial assistance beyond the normal scholarship offering may be available by filling out a financial assistance form. Every family is encouraged to apply. Contact the central office at 715-422-0917 for a form. Remember, it is our mission to make this high quality Catholic Christian education available to all families. Financial aid is available to all who qualify regardless of denomination.
Scholarship Funds
Approximately 25% of students receive some form of financial assistance. It is our philosophy to financially assist, if qualifed, all area students who desire a Catholic values-based education.
General Scholarship Fund
Each student receives an automatic scholarship from area parishes, foundations and other third source income. Nine area Catholic parishes contribute over 50% of the actual cost per student in the form of scholarship dollars. For example, for the 2003-04 school year, these area parishes donated over 1.9 million dollars to help defray the costs of educating our children. Those parishes are:
St Philip, Rudoph
Sacred Heart, Nekoosa
Our Lady Queen of Heaven
St Lawrence
St. Vincent
St James, Vesper
St Peter & Paul
Holy Rosary, Sigel
St Alexander, Port Edward
Guardian Angel Fund
The Guardian Angel Fund is designed to be a safety net for families who unexpectedly find themselves in financial crises due to sudden loss of income from illness or other events beyond their control. Last year for example, several families experienced serious medical calamities whereby they were not able to meet their tuition contributions. Generous citizens came forward and paid the remaining balance so that the family could continue to give their children the gift of a private, Catholic education. If your would like to contribute to this fund in order that we can continue to build up a reserve please fill out the form offered below and send in your donation. If you would like to be on a standby list, we’ll get in touch with you when a family needs your financial assistance. All donors remain anonymous. Click here for Guardian Angel form.
Matching Gifts
Corporations across the nation match gifts to secondary schools, meaning your gift to Assumption /WRACS could be doubled and sometimes even tripled. Please check with your human resources department to see if your employer matches gifts. It is often as simple as filling out a form and sending it to us.
Memorial and Honor Gifts
You may want to remember someone who is living (honor) or deceased (memorial) with a special gift to Assumption/WRACS. We will acknowledge all gifts, and will notify the family of the person to be memorialized, or the person to be honored.
Planned Giving and Estate Options
Estate planning is necessary to ensure that your assets pass during life or at your death to your intended beneficiaries in such amounts and at such times as will achieve your objectives while minimizing taxes. When making any estate plans, a qualified estate planning professional should advise you. A representative of the Wisconsin Rapids Area Catholic Schools would be happy to discuss any options without obligation.
- Including a Provision in your Will or Revocable Trust. Assumption High School established the Frank Walsh Society to recognize individuals and/or couples who have included us in their estate plans. Mr. Walsh left a generous estate to our schools.
- Declaring the Assumption Foundation, or the Wisconsin Rapids Area Catholic School Endowment Fund a Beneficiary under a Life Insurance Policy, Pension Plan, IRA or Other Retirement Vehicle
Sponsor a Student
Catholic schools teach youth morality and learning skills that will help them live happy lives. Each individual student is taught in a personalized atmosphere, suited to each student achieving success by implementing God-given talents-each making good decisions in resolving life’s many challenge’s while respecting him/herself and others.
It is the desire of our Diocesan Bishop, that no student be denied a Catholic Education because of finances. The Sponsor a Student program will provide tuition assistance to families who may otherwise not be able to send their children to Catholic schools.
We must now return to the greater Catholic community asking for your financial help. Would you consider making a gift on behalf of those families and students who are in need of financial assistance? More info…
The Annual Mail-a-thon Fund
Why is your support needed? The gap between tuition and balancing the budget is more than $2.6 million annually. Each and every gift to the annual fund helps to bridge that significant gap. Special benefactors who provide cumulative annual support of $5,000 or more are recognized as members of the Founder Club. Other gifting levels include:
$100 Donor Club
$100-$199 Royal Booster Club
$200-$499 WRACS Benefactor Club
$500-$999 Distinguished Knights
$1000-$4999 Principal's Circle
Cash gifts, as well as gifts of appreciated securities or stocks, are accepted on an annual basis. A gift of stock assists our Catholic Schools and provides you, the donor, with significant benefits. You qualify for an income tax deduction and also avoid capital gains tax.
